Annual State Coaches Meeting
Coaches will meet to informally discuss issues at the State Meet.  The formal State Meeting will be held at the State Clinic.  You must be a professional member of USAG to attend.  One vote per club.

State Clinic:
1.       Open to coaches and judges with professional membership.  Open to all registered athletes.

2.       Clinic will be held in September or October.

3.       Clinic should include lectures, demonstrations, and handouts.

4.       Fees for State Clinic is as follows:
Coaches and Judges = no charge
USAG Registered Athletes = $30 max. fee.

State Meet Format:
1.       State Meet Site- Bids proposed and voted on at State Meet – Follow KS bylaws if not a combined KS/MO State Championship.  If combined, KS State Chair will coordinate with MO State Chair.  Bids need to be presented to the State Director prior to the State Championships.

2.       State Meet Information – State Chair must approve the final State Meet format and schedule, which has to be mailed four weeks prior to the competition.

3.       The host for the State Meet must use the Regional Championships Financial Report Form to provide a financial statement of the competition.

4.       Judges must be NGJA rated for levels that have opportunity to qualify to the Region 3 Championships.  All judges must be approved by the State Chairman (USAG rules).  Judges chosen for Region 3 Championships from the KS/MO area are highly recommended to judge the State Championships (per Region 3 Rules and Policies). 

5.       Level 4-Elite – All gymnasts must be registered with USAG to participate in the State Championships.  Elite gymnasts will be judges per FIG. 

6.       A modified capital cup format (touch-and go-format) will be used for the State Championships with the following exceptions: Level 4 & 5: Stretch and Warm-up will be a minimum 45 minutes, then compete all 6 events (Modified Traditional format).

7.       Graduation seniors will be recognized with a plaque from the state Chairman.  It is the responsibility of each coach to submit the names of each graduating senior to the State Chair, one month prior to the State Championships.

Form will be sent to all gyms prior to the State Championships

State Meet Fees:

-          All-Around entry fee - $67 maximum

-          Tech Sequence (JE) fee - $25 maximum

-          Team entry cannot exceed $35 per level

-          Gate fees: Adults $7, Children $5

-          State Chairman may change these fees based on the financial circumstances surrounded with hosting the competition, i.e. using an outside facility

State Meet Awards:

1.       Individual & All-Around – Medals Only

-Individual Awards – must be 50% of the total competition in each of the following Levels and Age groups:

Level 4: 6-7yrs
                8-9yrs
                10+yrs

Level 5: 7-9yrs
                10-11yrs
                12+yrs

Level 6: 8-9yrs
                10-11yrs
                12+yrs

Level 7: 10-11yrs
                12+yrs

Level 8: All Ages

Level 9: All Ages

Level 10: 14-15yrs
                  16-18yrs

        -All Around awards – must be given to all gymnasts in each Level and Age group.  These must be USAG required medals.  Age groups to be combined at the discretion of the State Chair.

2.       Team
-Scoring – Top three scores per level, regardless of age.
-Must have at least three gymnasts in a level to constitute a team

USAG Fees:

-          $1 per gymnast per sanctioned event.

-          Must be mailed to the State Chair within one week of the event and should be made payable to: USA Gymnastics – Kansas

-          $2 per gymnast for the State Championships

-          $1 per gymnast (Scholarship Donation Head Tax) for each sanctioned event. This should be mailed with the National Report to the National Office, not to the State Chair.  Make checks payable to: National Gymnastics Foundation – Men’s Scholarship

Usage of State Funds:
-          The funds collected through the year will be used at the discretion of the State Chairman.  An accounting of these funds will be presented at the Annual coaches meetings.

This position will be appointed by the State Chairman
At the request of a meet director. The State Judging Director shall:
-          Secure appropriate rated judges for the competition

-          Update the State Chairman on any updates as they occur from the NGJA
-          Act as a liaison between the meet director and the judges
-          Verify all logistics of the competition using the “judging Assignment Form”
